RateTheFit Application
RateTheFit is a mobile app designed to simplify outfit decision-making through instant, community-driven feedback. Created for teenagers and young adults, the platform reflects the use of group chats to facilitate decision-making by offering a dedicated, streamlined space for style validation.
Responsive

The app features a dual-experience system: a public platform, where users can receive quick likes or dislikes with structured, limited feedback, such as fit, color, size or match, and a private network, where select friends can leave detailed comments. This balance allows users to choose between broad, fast input and more personal, trusted advice, to protect users from harmful comments. Additional features include the ability to upload multiple outfit options, add contextual notes such as event type, request urgent feedback, and customize privacy through face-blurring tools. Users can also build profiles, follow others, and curate their best looks, transforming everyday outfit choices into an interactive and social experience.

The interface uses a deep green and gold color palette to convey sophistication and confidence, paired with an intuitive layout that prioritizes user interaction.

DESIGN PROCESS
The objective of this project was to design and develop an interactive app that feels active and engaging, where users can easily connect, communicate, and respond to each other’s content. Interactivity is essential in this type of app because it encourages constant participation, quick feedback and helps build a sense of community between users.

The process started with sketching different ideas for each screen, creating user-flows, and then building a prototype in Figma. At this stage, the layouts were created without any colors, images, or visual styling, focusing only on structure, usability, and how users would navigate through the app. Once the structure was finalized, the visual identity was developed to create a consistent overall look and feel.
A key part of the project was also developing the app’s identity through its logo. The symbol is based on two hangers, one facing up and another facing down, symbolizing likes and dislikes on outfits in a simple visual form. This ties directly into the core interaction of the app, where users express opinions on outfits. RateTheFit allows users to post outfits, like or dislike content, message each other, follow accounts, and save favorite outfits to their profile. It also includes public and private spaces to control visibility and interaction.
